Footprints

Autumn Term 2022

Central to the theme ‘Footprints’ is each individual child. We will focus on who they are and how their backgrounds and experiences have shaped their lives now and how the decision they make can impact their future lives. The theme can be divided into the ‘Past, Present and Future’ with the aim of learning about how people, places and things can change over time and the influence that people and the natural world have on these things. Children will make comparisons and connections between their own lives and those of others and begin to think about why these maybe different. As a basis, children will investigate change on a very local level looking at themselves, their families and local community.

Through the theme ‘Footprints’ we aim to develop our learners as Ethical, Informed Citizens by beginning to make connections and comparisons between themselves and others and recognising their place in their local community and the wider world. Beginning to explore how decisions they make can impact not only their own lives but the lives of others alike. We aim to develop our learners as Healthy, Confident Individuals by beginning to celebrate the things that make us unique and recognise the ways in which we can keep ourselves both physically and mentally fit and healthy.  We aim to develop Ambitious, Capable Learners by inspiring them to think about their place in their communities and wider world and the positive impact they can have upon these. We aim to develop Enterprising, Creative Contributors by beginning to think about our own contributions to both our local communities and wider world.

Our BIG QUESTION this term is:

'Where have I come from, what can I do, where am I going?'
